There are three options to obtain a The Hartford auto insurance quote: online via the website, over the phone by calling 1-888-413-8970, or visiting a branch location and speaking with a licensed agent (go here to find an agent close to you). How to Get a Quote
Step 1 – Begin by going to the homepage (click the ‘Quote’ button at the top of this page, or enter www.thehartford.com into your browser’s URL bar).
Step 2 – Once on the homepage, click the ‘Car Insurance’ link (seen in the image below).
Step 3 – Enter your ZIP code into the form that’s outlined in the below screenshot and then click the ‘Get a Quote’ button to be taken to the custom rate form.
Note: If your ZIP code is not within The Hartford’s area of service, you are not eligible to purchase a policy.
Step 4 – Select whether or not you currently have an auto policy by choosing ‘Yes’ or ‘No.’ Click ‘Continue’ to move on to the next step.
Note: If you do not currently have an auto policy (with any insurer), you might not be eligible to continue the online rate process.
Step 5 – The five-step quote form will load. In the first step (‘About You’), enter your first name, last name, date of birth, street, apartment number, city, state, ZIP, phone, email, and whether or not you’re an AARP member.
Note: Hit ‘Continue’ at the bottom of each section to go to the next step.
Step 6 – There are four more steps to the form (vehicles, drivers, discounts, and quote). Fill out each section carefully, providing any required information and closely following the on-screen instructions.
